Clinton went into the fourth quarter down 14-13 to O’Hara but managed to pull ahead by five points 19-14 in the fourth quarter until there was only eight seconds left to the game.

Then the Cardinals scored an insurance TD and kicked the extra point to win the West Central Conference game 26-16.

O’Hara was outplayed throughout the first quarter of the contest with Chris Sidfrid scoring on a 7-yard touchdown run and Sam Ahnamen-Cover plunging for a one yarder.

Brian McCoy added an extra point but the Cardinals were held short on a two-point conversion attempt.  They led 13-0 at the end of the quarter.

With just over three minutes remaining before halftime, Michael Briggs completed a scoring pass to Hondo Pearcy for the Celtics and Zach Drake’s extra point kick made the score 13-7.

At the start of the second half, O’Hara took the lead and held onto a slim margin into the final quarter 14-13.

The Celtics’ touchdown was on a 51 yard run by freshman Brock Hughes and Drake’s extra point was good.

Early in the fourth quarter Sidfrid went 24 yards down the sideline for the Cardinals’ 19th point, but again the O’Hara defense denied the two-point conversion attempt.

As the game came to a close Sidfrid crossed the goal line for the insurance TD and this time Brian McCoy kicked the one-point conversion.
