Middle Six loaded with good teams-games

For the last 10 years the Suburban Middle Six has featured some of the top Class 5 teams in the state of Missouri. Park Hill, Lee’s Summit West and Raymore-Peculiar all won Class 5 titles playing in the league.
 
This year the bi-annual reshuffling of the Suburban Conference deck finds a very good group of teams led by last year’s conference champ Lee’s Summit West. Joining the Titans are Ruskin, Truman, St. Joseph Central, Park Hill and Park Hill South. South moved up from the Small Seven taking the place of North Kansas City.
 
The Suburban Conference schedule puts out some pretty good matchups every week of the season and this year’s Middle Six slate is filled with exciting and interesting games. Let’s take a look at some of the best games of the coming season.
 
Week 1
Staley at Lee’s Summit West. The Titans finished their season losing 76-70 to the Falcons in four overtimes. This game will open the year and be played on ESPNU.
 
Week 2
Truman at Liberty North. This is a great matchup of two playoff teams from last year. The Patriots should be tested by the Eagles strong rushing attack led by Antywnn Beavers.
 
Week 3
Park Hill at Lee’s Summit. The Trojans are looking for a bounce back year and they will be playing a Lee’s Summit team that moves up to Class 6 this year. With the new playoff system this is a good chance for Park Hill to get a bonus point in the race for postseason seeding.
 
Week 4
Lee’s Summit West at Blue Springs. The Titans have become one of the premier programs in the state over the last decade but they are 0-4 against Blue Springs and Blue Springs South. This should be a great game between two top notch teams.
 
Week 5
St. Joseph Central at Truman. Both of these teams were surprise playoff teams last year. This midseason game will be a good test to see how each has progressed from last season.
 
Week 6
Park Hill at Kearney. The Trojans will travel to Kearney to play one of the new kids on the Class 5 block. This should be a great north of the river showdown for years to come.
 
Week 7
Ruskin at Oak Park. The Golden Eagles got their only win of the season last year at Oak Park. Both teams should be improved this year so it could be another great game.
 
Week 8
William Chrisman at Truman. This is one of the best rivalries in the Metro no matter what the record of either team. The winner gets the Wagon Wheel Trophy.
 
Week 9
Park Hill South at Park Hill. With the new playoff system this rivalry game moves to the last week of the regular season. With only seeding on the line it should be a passionate but fun game with both teams still playing the next week of the season.
