The Broncos busted their four-game losing streak, running past Joplin, 59-34, in the first district football game held Friday at Joplin.

"It was our best game we played all year," Lee's Summit North Head Coach Ty Kohl said. "We became focused, we prepared, we looked ahead all week. I was really proud of our kids getting ready for this game. It is the first game in districts, taking a long trip down here and getting the job done like we needed to get done."

The Broncos, now 2-6, will travel to Rockhurst to play the 7-1 Hawklets for the second district game. Rockhurst blanked Raymore-Peculiar, 34-0, in the game Friday.

"We have a tough one in front of us," Kohl said. "(The win tonight) is going to give us some confidence obviously, but we have a tough Rockhurst team to play. We are just going to have to keep working on getting better."
