The last two weeks PrepsKC has been running a series on hiring of a new head coach. The series resumes Thursday with a look from the perspective of an assistant coach and so far it has been well received.
The series is a look at what is an annual change across the Metro. Every year there are new head coaches hired. Sometimes there are just a few, while other years it seems like there are new faces all over the place.
We began the series with the idea of gaining some understanding of the experiences of all involved. Not just the coach or the administrators, but also the assistants, players, fans and parents.
So far there have been some fantastic observations and I fully expect that to continue. We have also received some great feedback but we would like more. When we originally envisioned this series it was a five-part broken into administration, head coaches, assistant coaches, players and parents/boosters/fans. We have decided to add one more piece, feedback from the readers.
From now until the end of the series please send your feedback to me at dion@prepskc.com and I will compile them for the final piece of feedback. Please submit it to me by noon on April 8 and it will be considered for publication.
Of course I say considered because all responses will be used based on relationship to the subject matter and appropriate language. I feel that goes without saying but this isn’t an unedited list of tweets or Facebook posts, it is a reaction or commentary on the series.
Please keep the responses to 75 words or less. Trust me when I tell you that brevity is always the best thought when trying to get a point across to an audience.
Thanks again for the feedback we have already received and keep it coming. The Kansas City Metro has some of the best most informed high school football fans in the country and we feel honored to have them come to our site.
