Smitch-Cotton benefits from Riddell InSite

On game day, Smith-Cotton Tiger football fans are encouraged to show up, be loud and dominate the stands. While the crowd is cheering, the football players are focused on the field, ready to compete.

According to Head Football Coach, Josh Gray, preparation for game day is everything. The team is able to practice smarter during the week with the use of smart helmet technology and head impact data from Riddell. Smith-Cotton High School was a recipient of a McCarthy Auto Group donation this year, receiving three Axiom helmets and a subscription to Riddell’s InSite Analytics.

Axiom comes standard with an innovative impact sensing and reporting system that collects and transmits head impact data from the field in real-time. Reports with actionable information, including impact location and severity, are shared weekly with the coaching staff to help them take steps to reduce head impact exposure and improve performance.

“The information we receive from InSite Analytics with our Axiom helmets is great to use as a reference to see what we may need to alter with our practice during the week,” Gray said. “We feel the data we receive is a great tool to help address any practice points we may need to correct with our players. We feel very lucky to have received these helmets from the McCarthy Auto group.”
