Topeka Seaman's Samson Tootle is tough to bring down. On Friday, Washington had little luck containing the Vikings' junior running back.

Behind a stout offensive line, Tootle rushed for five touchdowns in Seaman's 62-12 mauling over host Washington in the first round of the KSHSAA state playoffs. With the win, the Vikings improved to 5–4 overall on the season

"I'm just a bystander to all of them," Tootle said of the big fellas up front.

Tootle wasn't the only Viking benefiting from dominant O-line play. Quarterback Max Huston carved up the Washington secondary with precision.

Huston tossed three touchdown passes against the Wildcats. Wide receivers Bryer Finley and Callen Barta had one each as did tight end Noah Kobuszewski.

The game started off close enough. Seaman led 7-6 in the second quarter. From there, the wheels fell off for the Wildcats, who gave up 34 straight points and trailed at halftime 41-6.

Washington finished its season 5-4.

"It was nice to get out here and get a win today," Seaman coach Jared Swafford said.
