Blue Valley West 42, Shawnee Mission Northwest 29
Quarterback Greg Riddle and receiver David Brown teamed up on four touchdowns and 235 through the air as the visiting Jaguars advanced to a sectional next week.
Blue Valley West (7-3), seeded sixth in the East half of the bracket, outscored the third-seeded Cougars (7-3) 35-6 in the second and third quarters, turning a 10-7 deficit into a 42-16 lead.
All four Riddle-to-Brown touchdowns came in that span. Riley Cummings added 141 yards rushing and a first-quarter touchdown.
Ty Black passed for 328 yards and four touchdowns for Northwest.
Class 4A
Bishop Miege 57, Bonner Springs 16
Brison Cobbins scored three touchdowns on just six carries before letting the Miege reserves take over as the No. 4 seeded Stags led the fifth-seeded Braves 29-0 before the end of the first quarter.
Each of the Braves’ five first-quarter possessions ended with interceptions. The host Stags (8-2) scored on the first four, setting up a sectional matchup at undefeated No. 1 seed Tonganoxie.
Timothy Dorsey passed for 305 yards and four touchdowns on 12-of-18 passing -- including seven for 217 and a pair of touchdowns to Daniel Jackson.
Bryce Krone ran for 252 yards and two touchdowns for the Braves (7-3).
