The Suburban Conference White division is coming off one of its best year’s in recent Memory. With North Kansas City and Raytown each having their best regular season in decades to go along with a run to the state championship game by Fort Osage.

This year there are some great games on the schedule for all seven teams. Let’s take a look at some of the games week by week.

Week 1 – Ruskin at Belton
These teams combined for just two conference wins last season. Both have also had slow starts the last couple of years. Getting a win in week one will be a goal for both which could turn this into a pretty good contest to start the season.

Week 2 – Fort Osage at Lee’s Summit West
The Indians are coming off a trip to the Class 5 state championship game while West had another strong season only to fall to Rockhurst in the Class 6 playoffs. Both teams had some key graduation losses, but this game was a 22-15 win for West last year and it could be a one score contest again this year.

Week 3 – William Chrisman at Oak Park
Oak Park took a big step forward with a 4-7-mark last season while Chrisman took a step back after posting back to back winning seasons in 2016 and 2017. Oak Park can show some improvement if it is able to reverse the 28-7 win by Chrisman from last season.

Week 4 – Raymore-Peculiar at Belton
This is a big rivalry game that Ray-Pec has owned the last few seasons. The Pirates took it on the chin 42-14 last year but emotions will be running high, so it is always a toss-up game.

Week 5 – Raytown at Grain Valley
This game was a shootout last season with Raytown earning the 44-29 win. It could be more of the same as both starting quarterbacks return for each team and that usually means each will be sporting a high-powered offense this season.

Week 6 – Ruskin at Raytown South
The Eagles take the short trip over to South in what could be a good mid-season out of conference matchup. While the wins have been hard to come by at Ruskin the program has shown improvement. These two schools battle each other in a lot of other sports so there isn’t much that will be new in this game.

Week 7 Raytown at Fort Osage
A rematch of another big win for Raytown from last year. This is the game was a thriller as the Bluejays held off the Indians 42-35. Fort Osage began to turn their season around after this game, but the Indians still probably have this loss on their mind.

Week 8 – Oak Park at North Kansas City
This is an in-district rivalry game that North Kansas City has owned the last few years. If the Northmen are starting to turn a corner in the third year under head coach Ken Clemens a win here would be a big feather in Oak Park’s cap.

Week 9 – North Kansas City at Raytown
A rematch of maybe the game of the year from 2018. The teams entered with just one loss between them and put on a show that won’t soon be forgotten. Raytown won the game 35-34 by denying a game-winning two-point conversion to win its first conference title in more than 20 years. If this game is half as entertaining as that one it should be great.
