After the first week of the high school football season I wanted to say thank you. To everyone whether you are a fan, a player, a coach, a reporter who works for PrepsKC or a sponsor of our little operation.

We began in the summer of 2010 with a stated goal of bringing you the Ultimate High School Football coverage. PrepsKC was the new kid on the block but we didn’t come to the party empty handed. We began with some of the most knowledgeable reporters along with some new people trying to break into the business, but we all brought passion.

In the last eight years we have had live scores from more than 10,000 games, posted more than 10,000 pieces of content and covered every single school in the Metro many times over. This year we are doing more with live stats, video highlights along with the great stories, photos and podcasts.

It is our goal to give you the most knowledgeable staff that strives to bring the best coverage to you. At a time when other media companies are still claiming to offer the best sports coverage in the city PrepsKC is delivering.

Every week more people go and watch high school football at the 140 schools in the PrepsKC coverage area than attend a Chiefs game. Countless more follow along with our live stats and scoreboard. While PrepsKC has scores from all and coverage of dozens of others cover one game and call it coverage.

PrepsKC was once the new kid on the block. We worked hard to earn your trust and continue to work hard to deliver the Ultimate High School Football Coverage. At a time where media companies are laying off we are expanding.

It’s all because of the fans that click, listen or watch every week. Your presence has attracted blue chip companies like The McCarthy Auto Group, The University of Kansas Health System, RE/MAX, BeYOUnion.com, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Powerade and Heartland Coca-Cola and Papa John’s. These companies’ partner with us because they believe in high school football and want to make sure fans in the Metro and surrounding areas get what they want.

What I’m trying to say is thank you. Others may send a part-timer to one game and call that coverage. At PrepsKC we know you deserve more and we are working hard to give you more every day.
